Delivering a Procurement Platform to Empower Black-Owned Businesses
Black Business Warehouse was founded in the wake of the George Floyd murder, with a mission to create wealth opportunities for black-owned businesses. The platform aimed to connect these businesses with Fortune 500 companies, offering a fast, scalable solution to address procurement needs. We were tasked with building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in under two weeks, which was successfully used to raise seed capital. Our partnership continued with ongoing development and strategic guidance as Black Business Warehouse expanded its offerings, including the addition of a recruiting platform. Today, the platform has facilitated over $50 million in economic value, forming partnerships with major companies like JP Morgan, Chase, and Washington Trust Bank.

Creating wealth for black-owned businesses in America has historically been an uphill battle due to systemic barriers, limited access to procurement opportunities, and underrepresentation in major corporate supply chains. Without an efficient way to connect with large enterprises, black-owned businesses face significant challenges in scaling their operations, securing contracts, and achieving long-term growth. This lack of access not only limits wealth creation for these businesses but also stifles economic empowerment within the black community, perpetuating inequality. The ripple effect of this inequality contributes to the widening wealth gap in society, restricting the broader potential for economic diversity and inclusion.
